Open Whiteboard / An independent product

A shared canvas.
Owned by the team.

Canvas editor, collaboration, workshops, identity, storage & MCP integration
Open Whiteboard showing a shared product workflow with connected notes and live collaborator cursors.
A shared workflow built from ordinary notes, arrows, and live collaborator cursors. Every object stays editable.

The product problem

The board should
outlast the meeting.

Teams use a whiteboard to think together, make a decision, and leave with work they can act on. The product has to stay fast and flexible while several people move through the same canvas.

Open Whiteboard also gives the team control of the installation. Boards, accounts, and uploads can stay in its own hosting account, with local identity, scoped guest access, and portable exports.

Inside the product

Think together.
Keep the result.

The interface supports the workshop, the follow-through, and the infrastructure underneath both.

Open Whiteboard workshop board arranging a team welcome exercise into three connected steps.

01 / Workshop flow

Turn a conversation into a next step.

Attached arrows, frames, private brainstorming, timers, voting, and presentation tools give a facilitator a path from rough ideas to a plan the team can revisit.

Open Whiteboard AI assistant turning a support-workflow request into connected editable notes.

02 / Editable AI output

Ask for a board, then keep working by hand.

An MCP client can create a workflow, retrospective, or diagram through OAuth. The result arrives as ordinary notes, shapes, and arrows rather than a flattened image.

03 / Self-hosted ownership

Keep boards, people, and saved work in your account.

The Cloudflare package uses the team's D1, R2, and Durable Objects. A Node package supports MySQL, database-backed jobs, and private storage.

What I built

The collaboration layer
and the platform.

Canvas interaction

Notes, drawing, text, images, frames, tables, and attached arrows share one editing model across selection, movement, and zoom.

Live collaboration

Shared cursors, comments, guest links, roles, and saved workbooks turn a solo editor into a workspace for ongoing team use.

Workshop tools

Timers, private brainstorming, voting, reactions, and presentation mode support a facilitated session without taking over the canvas.

Identity and data control

Local accounts support passkeys or an authenticator app. Teams choose whether to add outside sign-in providers and guest access.

Cloudflare, Node, and MCP

The product packages the editor for two hosting models and gives AI clients scoped access to create editable work on a user's behalf.
